Wine cork candles

Almost everyone loves candles and the special atmosphere that they create when you are at a romantic dinner with your beloved or even at a chinese-food party with your friends. We all have seen all kind of candles, from the roWine cork candles se-smelling ones to the pink, natural-flowers inserted or even shells candles- the imagination of producers has no limits. Here is another example for that matter: the cork candles which can fit any wine bottle and are really something different. They look quite interesting on any table and for sure they will create a special atmosphere, just as you would like it.

Each candle measures  approximately 3 inches and will burn for 2.5 to 3 hours.  They are sold in set of  eight and are tapered to fit snugly into the top of an empty wine bottle to complete the intimate feel.

Healdsburg Wine Funnel from Sandra Jordan

Healdsburg Wine Funnel from Sandra JordanWhen created this traditional wine decanting tool the designer and vintner Sandra Jordan was inspired by original designs from the 18th century. Her Healdsburg Funnel is silver-plated and contains a removable strainer to filter out any wayward bits of cork before they reach the glass as you pour out of the angled tip. The funnel sits on a tastevin base which serves to catch drips when the funnel is removed from the wine bottle and set to rest. The Healdsburg Funnel is selling for $225.

Modern-twist Vinotagz

Modern-twist VinotagzThe new design company Modern-twist has the products simple but playful. A perfect example for aesthetic are their Vinotagz. Made of silicone, the wine tags can fit easily onto bottles or glasses. Each tag is featuring a different design or color which makes identification easy when they’re in use. You can also write on them with a ballpoint pen, simply wiping away the markings when you’re finished. The Vinotagz are sold in packs of 6 but the price is unknown.

Eroica Riesling Wine from 2005From a collaboration between Old World technique and New World grapes result a very good wine. The Eroica Riesling from Chateau Ste. Michelle is a good exemple because the wine is a collaboration between Washington’s Chateau Ste. Michelle winery and Germany’s Dr. Ernst Loosen. The wine have got the name after a Beethoven symphony. The 2005 includes grapes from the Columbia Valley area of Washington.The resulting wine has a great mix of pear and mineral flavors and a lipsmacking finish. It’s drier than some Rieslings but has just a smidge of honeyed sweetness that makes Riesling so appealing. The price for the Eroica Riesling wine is $20.

The Briefcase Bar from Carl Martens

The Briefcase Bar from Carl MartensCarl Mertens designed a bar briefcase, which is an aluminum case and function like portable bar. In the same time the case can work as a briefcase and has compartments for files, business cards, pens and a cell phone. The case has 14-piece bar set which includes ice tongs, cocktail shakers, strainer, jigger, a knife, cutting board and even a pestle. The briefcase come with two combination locks and it sells for $650.

Bubbly, Sparkling Wine From Slovenia

Uses Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Welschriezling and Furmint grapes the wine is produced in Slovenia near the Austrian border. The wine comes in a range of styles starting with the Bubbly Luck Sec for $60 and ending with the 2001 VIntage Blanc et Blanc Bubbly Bliss which sells for $90.

The World’s Largest Wine Bottle

The World's Largest Wine BottleThe five Virtues Shiraz bottle is the world’s biggest wine bottle and is made in Australia. The bottle is six feet, five inches tall and weighs 1,300 pounds. The bottle is sealed with a cork worth $3,500 and is the equivalent of 387 regular bottles. If you want to fly the bottle to and from Australia you need $11,000.

washington wine.The wine industry in the Pacific Northwest has a new websit called “ Love Washington Wine” and gathers together Washington’s boutique wines in one place for sale to consumers. The Cave B Estate Winery, C.R. Sandidge Wines, Chateau Faire Le Pont Winery, Saint Laurent Winery and Wilridge Winery offer 64 wines from ten wineries in the low to moderate price range ($10 to more than $50)
