As it has just began the New Chinese Year-The Pig’s Year-the PQI has decided to produce an USB electronic memory card due to this event.The cards have a memory of 2GB and 1GB,but each one of them has different designs.The one with 2GB has a poney in the middle surrounded by little lucky pigs and the one of 1GB has only a pig in the middle.

The card are made of gold and are no more thick than 3mm.As it was expected those cards are a limited edition,being produced only 1000 pieces of 1GB cards and 500 pieces of 2Gb. Both on the price of $510 each.

Kate Spade introduced on the market her Sao Paolo Small Coal Tote which is a classic basket weave summer bag. The tote is coming in three colors: white, orange and red (like in the picture). The bag has an open top and waiting to be packed with books, sunglasses or other stuff. The handbag has one interior pocket in the signature larabee dot cotton twill lining and measures 11.2″h x 12.6″w x 6.5″d. The Small Coal Tote has a selling price of $695.

In China, consumers are primarily interested in things that are ‘obvious status symbols” with easily visible logos from only the top brand, so many companies, even big name ones, are barely breaking even after years in the country. Many high end brands - Cartier, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Hermèsare all in competition for the same small segment of the population. But the segment of the population that can afford luxury is growing and as the country moves more towards a market economy, they grow more willing to purchase such goods. The retailers are faced with rising costs for labor and rent and a customer base that is more reluctant to purchase luxury items thatn in other countries. So the retailers lesson is to start small and learn the market because it’s probably only a matter of time before more customers start to want to add some luxury to their lives.
