Graffiti book- made by a professional

Even though you may not live in London and you are not aware of the modern art that, the so- entitled artist-Barsky is doing, youGraffiti book- made by a professional may still appreciate this kind of “unsual” art. Here is very short summary: his identity is not known even now by common people, but the man seems to be a living legend among the ones that appreciate the graffiti art- there has been a long fight whether his drawings are art or not, but one thing is certain: his activity represents the present of the 21th century and he is very much appreciated worldwide.

Besides getting arrested very often, he got his signature on many important cities all around the planet on good money and now his work got really famous and his style quite unique (so beware if you see the Bansky signature!). He has painted streets, walls, bridges and zoos of towns and cites throughout the world and managed to be arrested in many of them too.

However, now there is a very long-awaited collection of old and new pieces from London’s most famous graffiti artist distills the finest of the subversive’s conceptual work  available on the market, so if you call yourself, a non-conformist person, here is  the best  gift for your “art culture”. All his work is put together  for the first time, old and new drawings, in a fully illustrated colour volume. Enjoy!

Special wooden postcard

We all have to admit itSpecial wooden postcard that the time when love letters and postacards were writen and send via the old-fashioned post way is kind of gone- today we all send e-mail postcards or anything that can be shared via the famous www. Well, in spite of all this I found a certain type of postcards that are really one-of-a-kind even though you have to send them via post- wooden postcards!

You can buy the simple wood card, with no message on it and simply carve it with a knife or key in any form you want and write any words that are to impress the receiver. You can aslo put stamps on it or, if you are a creative guy, go back to the Flinstone years and write the message with sharped rocks. I find this to be a very unique small gift with an amazing impact.

Soft music to cure restless souls

Are you amSoft music to cure restless soulsong those people with a stressful job, working sometimes 10 to 12 hours per day, and when you come home from work, you just can not support any annoying, small sound that may appear- a door scratching, a dog barking on the street or the neighbor at 2 listening to some punk-rock music. If, at least, once in a lifetime you felt like this (I am sure you have), I will share with you my latest discovery: Emiliana Torrini.

In little words, this Icelandic singer launched on the market in the early 1994 (shame on me that I discovered her music just now) but gained success just in the ‘99 when she launched her 4th album “Love in the time of science” followed by “Fisherman’s Woman” -another great album- in 2005. Emiliana also sang the Gollum’s song for the Lord of the Rings II: The Two Towers movie and was very much appreciated for her interpretation. Very often she is compared to Bjork (also from Iceland) but her style is quite different, and she is succeeded to differentiate herself from the better know singer, Bjork, creating her own style. The music she sings is relaxing and mild and her videos are truly original. In 2006, she was nominated for the Icelandic Music Awards held in Reykjavik at four categories and she won at three of them.

You should try this “cure” in one of those moments when you would do anything to get the stress out- for me it really works.

Brush Strokes Hangar

Brush Strokes HangarThe Brush Strokes Hangar was designed by Tom Forrester and is made from a paintbrush that appears to be stuck to the wall. Because it’s solidly attached can be used to hang coats, bags, umbrellas or other odds and ends. The brush also can serve as a surrealist piece of artwork. But the brush doesn’t come alone, it comes with a “Pantone paint strip,” in the color of your choice, which adheres to the wall above the brush bristles.
