A Panoz Esperante with wings?
At the very famous
Barrett-Jackson auction this year, there was put on the scene even a car that actually can fly: building wings to a 2004 Panoz Esperante car will seem quite silly for most, but you should know that is sold at 54,000$ which is a higher price that the organizers expected. But how on earth did they do it? Well, it takes a professional in such things to come to such a result- meet Jesse James of West Coast Choppers and now you will understand.
Panoz Esperante took flight on an episode of Monster Garage and it stayed in the air for about 300 feet before landing safely on the ground again. The interior has been stripped to make space for a full roll cage, a propeller is mounted in the trunk, and the 36′ wings were manufactured by hand. It is quite weird what the owner will actually do with the car (for sure he can not replace the flight between Europe and U.S.A. with it!), but nevertheless we have to admit it is one-of-a-kind piece after all.
